snacks for tea
Preparation Time: 5 mins Cooking Time: 12 mins Total Time: 17 mins
2 tbsp oil
1 tsp mustard seeds ( rai / sarson)
2 green chillies
a few curry leaves (kadi patta)
a pinch asafoetida (hing)
1 onion , chopped
2 to 3 garlic cloves, finely chopped
7 to 8 leftover rotis , torn into small pieces
salt to taste
1/2 tbsp turmeric powder (haldi)
1 tbsp sugar
2 tbsp lemon juice
Heat oil in a non-stick pan, add the mustard seeds,curry leaves and asafoetida.
When the seeds crackle, add the onions, green chilles and garlic paste, mix well and cook till onion turns golden brown in colour.
Add the roti and the remaining ingredients, except lemon juice, mix well and cook on slow flame till the roti becomes cripsy.
Add the lemon juice, mix well and serve hot roti chivda with curds.
